Hello everybody, today I’m going to write about one of my favourite subjects, the power of gratitude. As you may have noticed when you’ve had a look at my reading list and read some of my posts, I did a lot of personal development seminars in the last couple of years and read tons of books. These seminars and books have at least three things in common. They’re talking about the law of attraction, the abundance of our universe and – the power of gratitude.
Is it possible that these are only different expressions for one and the same “thing” ? Let’s try to put them into one sentence: In order to tap into the abundance of our universe and to attract abundance into your life, you need to be grateful about your life and feel, really feel, grateful about your life.
I’m fully aware of the fact that this is easier said than done, especially if you’ve got circumstances in your life that are not desirable at all and that you would like to change or even get rid of. On the other hand, it isn’t necessarily given that people whose lives seem to be perfect are really grateful. A beggar in India who knows that God will somehow take care of him can be more grateful than a successful stock broker in Frankfurt, London or New York whose only focus is about making money and who is probably driven by the fear of losing money. With that being said, I’m going to write about this subject how I experienced it and how I learnt to apply the power of gratitude better and better.
So please feel free to accept anything you feel comfortable with and reject anything you don’t feel comfortable with. I am humble enough to know very well that I’m still a student of gratitude and that there’s still so much to learn. And guess what, I’m grateful about that. As long as there are things to learn in your life, you’re alive, that’s the good message.
Why not walk the talk together ? I’m looking forward to getting to know you.
To be continued with part 2 of the Power of Gratitude.
So what is your opinion ? I always love your feedback, so please leave me a comment down below with questions, thoughts, or feedback. I’m looking forward to more of your posts and videos on this subject. One year ago I picked up Tony Robbins book “Awaken The Giant Within” this book started the change in my life. The person that I was a year ago isn’t the same person that I am now. I’m very grateful for all that God has giving me and for the “journey Towards Treasured Inner Value” that I’ve been on.
Great post!

You are so right Oliver, We sometimes take for granted the little things we have.
We have to remember the universe is watching and it determines that if We are not grateful for little things , it won’t grant Us the bigger rewards in Life.

Gratitude is very important because a positive attitude is critical to using the Law of Attraction. To attract more, you need to become more, and that means finding things to be grateful for daily!

Hi Dale,
thank you for the comment. I also think that gratitude is closely related to the law of attraction. It’s magnetic, as is ingratitude. Have a blessed Sunday and take care.

Oliver, I really liked your video and blog post. I woke up in the middle of the night thinking about things, and something inside told me to get up and go to the computer. I saw your post and video, ordered the book Debby talked about, and am on the way. I am grateful and thankful for my life, but lately I’ve been dealing with loss and economy issues and they sometimes weigh heavy on my mind. Thank you for the reminder about gratitude.

Thanks Oliver,
Gratitude is something I’ve been working on for a while now, sometimes I forget, but mostly I think how thankful to have everything in my life right now!
I find that when I am thankful for things, then better things happen to me and I attract other great things into my life.
I just go with the flow, I don’t try to fight or resist things which is very powerful! It’s amazing how things open up when we do this
Thanks Oliver, for sharing,

Your video is right on! Your advice to step in abundance and gratitude is something which works well for me. I write in a gratitude journal sometimes and it works. I also think about what I am grateful for in the alphabet starting with A and so on. Thanks for your beautiful post and video.
Peace,

Great reminder Oliver. I make a practice of stating what I am grateful for a least twice a day. No matter what you are going through at the moment, there is always at least one thing to be grateful for … waking up in the morning is a wonderful thing to be grateful for!

Thank you, Oliver. Gratitude always expands my world. It connects me to my higher self.

Hey Oliver,
Gratitude is about being present and conscious. When we’re not grateful, we’re resisting what is. This resistance is what causes suffering. when we are totally present, we can appreciate what we have, regardless of the circumstances. It’s in this state that we can manifest more abundance.
Take care,
Wayne

oh yes my friend, resistance is enemy number 1 of being gratefulness in being in the present, the here and now.

Hi Oliver,
Another powerful video you have here. Yes I am with you. We have to be grateful in every aspect of our lives not only in the good things but even with the our flaws and imperfection because everything works together for good and it’s just up to us how we see and view things.

We all have so many things to be grateful for. You mention a few people may take for granted as simple as a warm shower or a roof over our head. I am grateful for most everything in my life. Even things unpleasant as I am likely to learn from the unpleasantness.
I will have to look for this book it sounds like a great read.

Hi Oliver,
I have been, at many times in my life, someone who can fall into depression and overwhelm, especially after the births of my 3 kids. In the past I would linger and struggle in that place, but I noticed with the birth of my son I really bounced back quickly. It’s not that I wasn’t so very grateful for the births of my daughters, but I was already aware of the power of gratitude when my son was born and I had already made it a habit to focus on the blessings in my life.
Thanks for the reminder of the power of gratitude. I’m looking forward to reading your future posts!

Hi Heather,
thank you for your beautiful comment. The birth of a child is overwhelming and probably one of the last archaic events (in a positive sense) in our modern lives, despite all high-tech medical supply.
It reminds us of the fact that we are endlessly powerless face to face with creation even if we think we have the power, represented by medical authorities and high-tech stuff, a realization that can create a lot of overwhelm itself. Humility and gratitude are the right answers, although I know that it’s easier said than done sometimes.
We’ve got two daughters, both births were a little bit dramatic and we sometimes acted against the advice of medical personal. I totally freaked out, and I mean it: totally, when a pediatrician wanted to keep our second daughter hospitalized, separated from my wife, because of nothing. We didn’t even sign the disclaimer when we went home with her…
I am grateful that I forgot all kindness and politeness in this situation.
Helping deliver my kids is also one of most exciting experiences in my life.
Take care
Oliver

You’re wife is lucky to have you. I think of women out there going through that experience alone and I cannot even imagine what that would be like.
Both of our girls were pretty dramatic births too. An emergency c-section with the first and the 2nd the spinal block didn’t take as effectively as it should have so they had to give me a general anesthetic. My son’s delivery was a piece of cake. My husband laughs that the girls are still dramatic compared to my son who is so completely different than they ever were at his age.
Life is beautiful, isn’t it?

Hi Heather,
thanks for your reply. Thank you for your compliment, we would have to ask my wife
But I deeply believe we are both blessed that we found each other.
My wife had a spinal block as well at Muriel’s births – our first daughter – because the medical personnel made so much pressure that the entire birth process came to a halt. She had pains that were unproductive. That’s why she wanted a spinal block as well at Anouk’s birth as well after 16 hours of nothing happening. And the midwife and I knew that it wouldn’t be of much use anymore because the baby came out very quickly finally…
Life is beautiful !
Take care

I am very big on gratitude. If you are not happy for the small things in life, how can you expect to get the big things in life? I start and end each day with a gratitude session and since doing this, I have noticed a huge shift in my life.

Hi Oliver. Great blog you have here. I think that gratitude is an integral part of business, and it all “begins at home.” I think that in the first instance, you should be grateful for your workers, grateful for your resources, and grateful for your clientele. But above all you should be grateful for the sheer opportunity to put you and your business out there.

Hi Michelle,
you speak the truth: We can and should be grateful for the opportunities the internet and modern means of communication offer us. Wouldn’t have been possible only 15 years ago.
I like this one too:”It all begins at home.”
Thanks for your comment.
