Think And Grow Rich – Power Of The Mastermind – Lessons From Chapter 10: THE DRIVING FORCE – The ninth step towards riches

This is a powerful chapter, in the true sense of the word.

Napoleon Hill states:”POWER is essential for success in the accumulation of money. PLANS are inert and useless, without sufficient POWER to translate them into ACTION.”

He goes on:”POWER may be defined as ‘organized and intelligently directed KNOWLEDGE.’”

And:”POWER IS REQUIRED FOR THE ACCUMULATION OF MONEY! POWER IS NECESSARY FOR THE RETENTION OF MONEY AFTER IT HAS BEEN ACCUMULATED!”

This power is created through the coordinated effort of a mastermind group, working toward a definite end, in a spirit of harmony.

An alike designed mastermind group allows its members to tap into the power of Infinite Intelligence – that is the bottom line, at least to me.

That is not only a theoretical brain child, it works.

After reading this chapter aloud and meditating upon it, I had an epiphany only a few seconds after closing my eyes and connecting.

On my 2016 vision board, I had some items that permanently reminded me of something of my past I want to get rid of badly. Not only that, I had also a sticker on my car with this type of “souvenir”.

I already knew that, but I didn’t remove these images, I always said to myself:”You should do that. That is a small but important step to complete your own picture of your future.”

Resistance held me back, removing these items made me feel like a “bad boy”.

I know it’s ridiculous, but it’s just like it is.

It’s like the lady in “The Secret” wanting a partner for life badly…but parking her car straight in the middle of her double garage – no space left for a second car. No space for a partner for life.

Small things, harmless things, totally insignificant things can be missing links that get us one step or more closer to the life we desire and deserve.

Throughout the day, my mood hasn’t been the best…I knew I had to write this lesson plan and my ego was whining and moaning. I felt like being behind a curtain.

After reading this chapter and meditating, I wrote the headline of this lesson plan and – I left the house, went to my car and removed this damned sticker and threw it away.

What a great feeling !

Then I came back to my computer, printed out the picture of my blog header and the “Mentoring Fo Free”-logo and sticked them on my vision board, over the two items that reminded me of a part of my past I want to get rid of.

What an even greater feeling even though I feel like a sinner as well, even like a traitor.

I know that the bad feelings will eventually vansish, I feel it already.

My eyes are filled with tears, my body is shaking slightly, it seems that I got rid of several layers of lies at once that hid my true self.

It was like pulling out a rotten tooth.

The curtain fell, I’m close to the truth, to the light.

I’m now delighted and fulfilled again when watching my 2016 vision board, I absorb it.

That is the power of the mastermind.

Thank you Linda and Michael, and all members of the Mental Cleanse. I love you.

  1. Very profound Oliver!

What we need to realise is that to have the power, is to have control. Until you are able to control what you are thinking, & ultimately doing as a result – you have NO control,

The only way you can give the power to yourself, is to take control – of your thinking & your actions. You need to be able to hit the “isolate” switch & turn off the effect that energy-sucking society has on your thinking every day.

Until you can do that, you will always be subjected to all sorts of things renting space in your head!

    Stay inspired!

    Hi Michael,

powerful comment, thank you very much. Who has the control, has the power. Who has the responsibility, has the power. Who has the fault, has the power. That’s what most people fail to realize when they’re blaming others – they’re also handing over their power.

Cosmic energy works in very profound ways doesn’t it?

The negative energy you felt from the sticker and items of your dream board were creating internal conflict, diminishing your power, your drive. Just small things that you let go of can make a big difference.

I know how liberating if feels to have a rotten tooth pulled out, as I did with my wisdom teeth just a week ago.

    Another great lesson, Oliver.

    Hi Wayne,

thanks for your thoughtful comment. Sometimes it’s really the small things that prevent us from moving forward – but small things are often symbols. We decide how we charge these symbols – with positive or negative emotions.

We can learn from the past but there is no point hanging on to the past if it serves no purpose.

The next chapter is my favourite because it shows what a strong desire can accomplish. I look forward to your take on it.

    Hi Hector,

I am glad you find my post powerful. As you not, we have to take action. That doesn’t mean that we have to do all the work on our own. If we have a good idea, but aren’t good in planing and design technical details – we have partner up with someone who loves that part. If we aren’t good at sales, we can find someone for sales that would be happy to sell the stuff for us.

…and this power comes from the mastermind. At the same time, this is the mistake a lot of people make when it comes to Think and grow rich: They are trying to make it alone (the old flaw) rather than plugging themselves into a mastermind group.

  11. Oliver man what a very poignant and interesting description of a personal journey. I think I actually jerked back at the end I was riveted to the screen.

It’s so true what you said and I really can identify with having seemingly small things in your life that are holding you back but you put them off because they seem harmless until you finally do. Great post.
