My friends often ask me what my success secrets in my MLM business are.

Only recently at the Prove-it-blogging challenge, here the thread from its wall on Facebook:

Martin:“Oliver Tausend you are the winner of making the most comments on my blog so far in the challenge. Thank you so much! You definitely get around!”

Jayne:“Yes he does, obviously has excellent time management!”

April:”I think Oliver needs to share his secrets!!”

Stacy:“Oliver rocks at commenting!”

Rowena:“Totally agree! and you would always see him responding to ‘all’ his FB wall comments, likes, etc. Plus he has time to mentor me …just amazing! Share the secrets , Oliver…”

Karlene:“Go Oliver!! Amen to all of the above comments!! What I like about Oliver’s comments is it’s from his heart, not just an automated response! Come on Oliver, let’s hear the secret!lol”

Myself:“Thanks for all your praise and encouragement my friends. One of my former mentors said that the best kept secrets are those that aren’t any at all. It’s like having the key to success and nobody wants it. You definitely gave me some good ideas for a blog post, but I can promise you already today that everybody who’s expecting secrets will be disappointed ;-) With that said, have an awesome weekend !”

April:“So….you just sit at the computer 24/7? :)

Myself:“Lol, no. Hard to duplicate ;-)

Dani:“Yes! Id love a blog on how to effectively read and comment on 10+ blogs a day!!”

Kisane:“And such ‘in-depth’ comments 99% of the time too!”

Martin:“I think the Great Secret is simply that he has decided to make it a priority. Why don’t I do the same?”

Myself:“You’re pretty close Martin…awesome”

First of all, thanks to all of you for wanting to know more, I appreciate you and am happy and grateful to be part of this amazing mastermind group.

So Martin is pretty close, I made relationship building a priority.

The “How to” is easy to learn once you know WHY you are doing what you are doing.

Without a personal and strong WHY even the easiest skills are hard to learn.

To say it with Robert Kiyosaki:”Without a strong enough WHY, you will always look for an easier ‘how-to’ – even if the ‘how-to’ in front of you is already easy.”

So now, watch this video where I explain myself in-depth. Might ruffle some feathers.

Some words of caution:

There’s an old saying that a strong WHY is not everything. But without it, everything else is nothing.

Without learning and applying the skills it takes to fulfill your WHY you would be nothing more than a highly motivated idiot.

So that’s the point where learning the “how to” kicks in.

In terms of Napoleon Hill, you need to acquire specialized knowledge for the industry of MLM and network marketing.

I don’t know a better starting point than reading the free MLM e-book ‘Success in steps’.

Well you know how, there are two types of people in the world asking for “How-to”-advice.

Those who ask and follow the advice they get – and download and read this e-book.

And those who ask and look for excuses once they get the advice because they were looking for something else or say to themselves:”I knew that already.”

Everybody knows that these four words “I knew that already” are the most expensive words in the English language.

I’m just curious, to which group do you belong ?

Most people know that successful people are willing to do what unsuccessful people aren’t willing to do.

What is your opinion ?

I always love your reaction, so please leave me a comment down below with questions, thoughts, or feedback.

    Hi Oliver,

Wow, a nine-minute video which sums up your PURPOSE, gives away some HOW-To’s and definitely gives so much CLARITY about our industry.

I am privileged to belong to the selected group of people who are willing to be mentored and to “volunteer” as a mentor in the process as well.

I just love the statement of knowing your WHY until you CRY. I was just listening to Chapter 2 from Mental Cleanse recording, and that was the very same discussion they had.

Oliver, I cannot thank you enough for mentoring me. Well, I was one of those people who asked for the “secret” but now, I can’t be more excited to learn from you. I know that with a strong enough WHY and with the right mentor, I can definitely be as productive, engaging and as as successful as you are! :)

    p.s. I’m looking forward to Part 2…

    Hi Rowena,

isn’t it interesting that you selected yourself by taking the decision of being mentored and becoming a mentor ? How many people “de-select” themselves voluntarily from something they easily could do, have or become ?

There’s no extraterrestrial force selecting people. Those always looking for secrets will have to keep searching.

I can’t thank you enough for being a student who is willing to listen and to learn. Mindset – the why – and the skills that are necessary – the how to.

Teaching you helps me as well.

    Thanks for your beautiful comment.

    Take care

    Excellent!
That was a very well thought out answer to our question Oliver.
I am not stirred up, and
my feather’s are not ruffled one bit.

In fact, I think you gave more in that video than I was even expecting.

I really, really like your call to action. Very well done.

Great Answer, and well written post!

    Hi Martin,

I just found out that if you warn people of ruffled feathers and stirred souls, they expect it and become less upset :-)

I am glad that I was able to over-deliver and that you are able to resonate with my ideas.

    Thanks for your comment.

    Oliver,
Thanks for helping me start the week off right.
Your explanation of someone’s Why (or purpose) was fantastic.
I was guilty as well as most everyone else in this great business. “Just show me the money” was my WHY! I got nowhere in a hurry! Once I figured it out, slowed down and focused on why I am here, things started to happen :)

Mundane! love that!! You have to keep your tasks consistent!

  4. HI Oliver,

I have a secret, there are no secrets! Love that part of your message! :)

Relationships are everything and I’m always impressed by how well you manage yourself online.

You are so wise in stating that your purpose is the secret. You are an amazing role model. Staying focused on ONE purpose is the only way to achieve it.

One of the biggest flaws of the internet is that it offers so many distractions that so many of us struggle to keep that one purpose in the forefront of our activities. I’ve been distracted lately, although I’m back on track now, by technical things that were not serving my purpose!

As you know, I’m learning more and more about myself on this journey and getting better and better at catching myself early before I go too far off track.

Your post will be so helpful to everyone who reads it and takes it to heart. I’ll be one of them! :)

Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom!

    Hey Oliver,

What a powerful post and video. This statement sums it up all: “Know your “Why” until you cry!” Wow!

Truth be told, if your “Why” is strong enough, you’ll figure out the “How”.

You are a great example of doing “mundane” things consistently while building your brand, generating exposure and driving traffic to your blog. Keep rocking!

There’s really no secret, it’s all about taking the same actions daily until you get what you want. That simple.

Thanks for sharing this mind-blowing post, Oliver!

    All the best,

    Hi Mavis,

but I hope I got my point across that we also need the How-to, some skills ;-)

Well, with all these secrets, we need to stop making people believe that there any secrets. Of course, we will discover new things, but the process that gets us to these new discoveries is always the same: Hard, consistent work over a long period of time and of course, benefiting from good randomness as well.

    Thanks for your wonderful comment.

    Take care

    Oliver,
Love that you say the secret is there are no secrets. It’s truly just reaching down inside yourself and finding the true WHY for you. Not somebody elses, but for YOU! I think a lot of it gets into the self-esteem of the individual as well as their open-mindedness. The truth is this is the future – traditional businesses are not thriving in this economy, just look around.

Oliver, I am not disappointed at all. And yes the Success in Ten Steps is an excellent ebook and Michael Dlouhy is an awesome human being.

With that said, so are you Oliver and I thoroughly enjoyed the depth of this video. The part that really hammered me is “drop everything” and focus. You are right about tasks not being difficult. I think much of it has to do with FOCUS and TIME management and knowing WHY as you said.

I am going to try to take a leave our of your book, put my blinders on and go to it.

    Thanks so much!

    Hi Jayne,

thanks for your comment and your appreciative words. Glad you liked my video. Everything becomes difficult when we don’t know why we are doing or learning it. Normal challenges can become unsurmountable obstacles because it’s too much of a hassle.

Let me know the aha-moments you get from the e-book.

    Hi Oliver,

This line really stuck out to me: “There’s an old saying that a strong WHY is not everything. But without it, everything else is nothing.”

It’s so true because I know that when I am focused on my why that is when I get the most accomplished. When I’ve lost focus on my why my focus is all over the place and I feel scattered and I accomplish little.

    Thanks!

    Hi Stacy,

absolutely, But the other side of the coin is that you need some skills too. A WHY until your cry alone won’t make it either, well it will make you cry if and when you don’t learn some skills.

    Thanks for your comment.

    Hi Oliver,

Awesome wisdom from you as usual.

The line that sums up your secret Oliver as far as I am concerned is simply, “successful people are willing to do what unsuccessful people aren’t willing to do.”

I can’t recall who first said this but whoever it was they certainly knew what it took to make things happen and this is what I have seen you apply in your business too.

    Congratulations!
