Previous lesson plan read by Oliver Tausend: Think And Grow Rich – Oliver Tausend Reads His Lessons – Introduction

Former lesson plan about: Think And Grow Rich – Desire – Lessons From Chapter 1

Desire – The starting point of all achievement – The first step toward riches

Napoleon Hill starts this chapter with these words:”WHEN Edwin C. Barnes climbed down from the freight train in Orange, N. J., more than thirty years ago, he may have resembled a tramp, but his thoughts were those of a king!”

And: “As he made his way from the railroad tracks to Thomas A. Edison’s office, his mind was at work. He saw himself standing in Edison’s presence. He heard himself asking Mr. Edison for an opportunity to carry out the one CONSUMING OBSESSION OF HIS LIFE, a BURNING DESIRE to become the business associate of the great inventor.”

After my lessons from Think And Grow Rich – Introduction – Advanced Lessons From Chapter 1 , I’m going to read my lessons from chapter 2 of Napoleon Hill’s “Think and grow rich” today.

It’s about desire, the starting point of all achievement and the very same lesson plan I sent to Mentoring for Free‘s Mental Cleanse Call, our mastermind group.

“Think and grow rich” is nothing without being part of a mastermind group.

While my desire has become more definite, I have become calmer.

  1. Hi Oliver!

Very well said. If something serves your burning desire, then go for it! If not, then you are right in just shaking it off and not waste your time.

The whole point of having a desire, really, is to have that focus.

    Thanks for sharing this.

Oliver, aloha. Though I have read Think and Grow Rich many times, I am enjoying reading it again through your eyes and seeing your reflections.

This paragraph is so key “As he made his way from the railroad tracks to Thomas A.

If people understood the importance of visualizing the desired outcome, they would find more and more of their desires coming true.

Thx so much, Oliver. Look forward to the next chapter. Aloha. Janet

    Hi Janet,

thanks for your wonderful comment. People are not aware of the power of visualization although they’re applying visualization techniques all day long on a subconscious level – picturing negative stuff in most cases. If you remind them that they can use it also for positive goals, they don’t want to hear it.

  5. Hey Oliver,

Thanks for a piece that I very much enjoyed. The like your key message very much and I very much agree and follow (or should I say that I try hard to follow it!).

It is true that desire helps us to focus and focus leads us to success. But the desire (or the passion) and focus are both needed certainly.

    Cheers,
    Jane.

    Hi Josh,

thanks for your comment. Absolutely. As we grow, the book changes as well. The wonderful part of being member of a mastermind group is that we can learn both from the book and from other people’s thoughts about the book.

  7. hey Oliver,

Having that burning desire is what gets people to act and to take some massive action. When you have this desire within you, it’s pretty hard to hold yourself back.

Thanks for sharing this “desirable” post. ;)

    Hi Oliver,

I enjoyed listening to your reflections on this first chapter. Thank you.

The interesting thing about having a burning desire is that it usually means we feel good and when we feel good about something then we are vibrating in alignment with what we want to create and by this we hasten it’s creation.

Keeping that feeling alive is vital then so focusing on our desire must be a priority for us.

  9. This was one of the first business books I read before starting my business. It has been quite a while since them. Having you read it bring back memories and more clarity what having a burning desire mean.

When we have a strong desire for something we can go through all length to achieve it.
