Color To Success – Essential Network Marketing Skills
Well you know how, I have talked a lot about the personality colours in several posts, such as MLM: Learning The Skills From Tom ‘Big Al’ Schreiter Pt. 1
And there’s a great e-book called “Powerful Networking Secrets” that expands on the colours and their benefits for your life and business.
Before consulting these pieces of information, you may as well watch this little video first.
Maria Whitehead from Christchurch/New Zealand and Søren Egstrup from Copenhagen/Denmark interviewed by Oliver Tausend from Tübingen/Germany – that’s me – about an essential network marketing success skill: Being able to detect people’s personality and knowing what to say and what not to say to them.
Enjoy.
So now may be the time to visit the post about Tom ‘Big Al’ teachings mentioned above.
What is your opinion and what are your experiences ? I always love your reaction, so please leave me a comment down below with questions, thoughts, or feedback.

I appreciate you telling others.

Hi Oliver,
Great vids here.
I feel the absolute turning point for most failing networkers is learning how to tune in to cues. Listening is key but learning how to respond immediately to a hesitation, or excitement, based on the individual’s personality, is when you can start really prospering with home based gigs.
Open up your ears. Practice listening to the individual. We have an internal guidance system called our intuition which teaches us when to push forward a bit with a gentle nudge, or when to pull back. We know immediately when to do this, but ego-based low energy feelings block the perfect guidance.
As you release on these lower energies though practice you become quite adept at listening, feeling out the individual’s personality, and acting accordingly.
You learn who to nudge, who to pull back on, who needs a bit more info, a bit less info. One size does not fit all, that is for sure. If this were the case, the network marketing industry would be full of billionaires.
Thanks for sharing your insight Oliver.

Hi Ryan,
thanks for adding value to the discussion. Yes, we need to release the ebo-based low-energy feelings to truly use our internal guidance system, very well said.

Oliver: I think Ryan hit the nail on the head: we MUST listen.
Great interview with Maria and Soren; the colors training, I think, is invaluable for every single aspect of one’s life, not just for building a network marketing biz. In order to achieve success, we must be willing to meet people at whatever level they are at–the only way to do that successfully is to listen FAR more than we talk.
Insightful as always Oliver!

Hi Diane,
thanks for your appreciative comment. You are right on, and it’s definitely to speak broken in their language than just perfectly in ours.
Be blessed

Hey Oliver,
The colors topic created a great discussion in your video but also here in the comments area. We all are a mix of colors but certainly one is dominant and easy to identify. Learning about the 4 types but also about the human personalities in general( Jung’s 16 types for example) will save us a lot of time and energy.
Our presentation has basically the same content-only the way of packaging must be different to fit the prospect’s personality. And that requires listening plus a detached attitude. If we pay attention only to closing the sale we lose the relationship- a vital element in network marketing.
Thanks for sharing the video with us

Wish you an awesome day,

Hi Radu,
thanks for your appreciative comment. I agree that the packaging will be different, however, don’t overwhelm blues with all the information you have and everything you know. Just an example…

Hi, Oliver,
I appreciate your effort in sharing and bringing in the guests!
I agree with Radu that the discussion here is great too. Ryan has made a great point about our internal guiding system. With the FOCUS 100% on helping others and detaching from the outcome (as mentioned by Radu), we will be authentic. It is the energy that attracts others to us.
Of couse, mastery of the style of communication can improve our success rate.
I have found Jerry ‘DRhino’ Clark’s CD (The Magic of Color) and Jeffrey Combs’s CD (Personalities for Success: The Animal Factor) extremely helpful.
Having said that, NOTHING can be more helpful than practising the skills taught!
I appreciate you, Oliver.

Hello Oliver, I am familiar with the color personality types and find that it works very well. If I met a “yellow” personality that was a team player, my conversations would lead more to the team than other aspects to entice that person and speak their language. It goes the same for all color types. Once you get that que on a person, it does become an easier conversation.
I believe it starts with the art of listening to them and putting yourself in their shoes to get the color type first. People respond well when you have empathy towards them. Compliment them, etc. It has become part of my life so much so, that I find myself complimenting the waitress, the cashier, or anyone I meet and it brings a smile to their face. We both feel good. With that in mind, the more you practice this technique the better you get at it and you can speak all languages.
I enjoyed your video also. Starting it with your own personal branding of running and then sliding into an interview was brilliant!
Blessings,
Donna

Hi Donna,
thanks for adding a lot of value to the discussion. so true, it’s a matter of practice. And it’s definitely better to speak the other language broken than our own language perfectly.
Take care

Hi Oliver,
Great topic and video presentation!’
I have always believed that network marketers and indeed all business professionals should spend time learning to understand people as a first priority. It really does not matter what it is you have that could be of help to someone unless you know how they are wired so that you can ‘meet them on their page’.

Hi Marcus,
thanks for your comment. If we learn to understand other people better, we will get to know ourselves better, won’t we ?
How many people think they know other people without even knowing what they’re all about ?

Interesting information. Labeling people as colors, and then going from there. I have never heard of this concept. When you know what personality types people are, you will definitely know how to carry out your conversation, that’s for sure!

Hi Oliver,
I am a university lecturer and I specialise in strategic management and Human Resources. I tell all my students that I strongly believe that people are the most valuable resource in any business. Therefore you must learn how to treat people well, identify different traits in people, and how each individual has different needs. I like to get people to learn the skills in coaching which is to listen and support. During any coaching session I think I should talk 5% of the time and the other person should talk 95% of the time. By not imposing myself on them and making them feel comfortable gets great results.
I hope this helps.

Hi Giuseppe,
thanks for your comment. I agree that listening is more important than talking when we want to really help people as a coach, mentor, parent, teacher etc. Asking questions is a great way to keep the conversation flowing and help the other person to find the solution.
Be blessed
